Walking around with a cell phone in your hand is impractical. When you’re sitting down most people tend to have their cell phone in their pocket. When the phone rings you have to go around digging in your pocket. If you’re wearing jeans it may be close to impossible to pull the phone out with out standing up. Men, especially appreciate the convenience of a cell phone belt case that provides quick access to their phone, yet keeps it out of the way so they perform other tasks. Unlike belt clips, a cell phone belt case also protects the phone from accidentally be dropped or knocked loose if the user bumps up against an obstacle.

With the many different styles out there you are sure to find on that matches your belt. I know not all of us care about matching. We are more concerned about functionality. When the two come together it’s nice. From the ones made of stretchable material that hug the phone to their belt to the thick cell phone belt cases made of leather with a snap down flap to protect it from the elements if they get caught outside, most cases are designed to protect the phone from inadvertent damage.

Are Hard Cases Better?

Many people opt for a hard case over a soft one. If you’re out in the field the harder case will protect your phone that much better. Examples of this are people in the construction field. For those in an office setting they may not have as much need for a hard case. Being in the manufacturing field and working out of a computer manufacturing plant the hard case is needed. This type of cell phone belt case can also be useful if the phone is the type that has exposed keys. They can prevent inadvertently placing a call or rubbing against something and pressing a key or two, making your phone appear to be busy to incoming callers. This has happened to me why to many times. It happened so much that I actually changed the first contact to an invalid number. That was before I got a hard case.

How the case attaches to the belt is another consideration when looking for a quality cell phone belt case. Some simply clip over the belt while others have a loop through which the case attaches. Either one will work fine for most folks, but for those with an active lifestyle, there is always the chance of the clip working lose, causing the loss of the cell phone and the case at the same time. Once again you really should think about this. I have conveyer belts all over the place and getting caught on one is not fun. I opted for the clip on instead of the loop because I would rather my phone fall off then me get hurt. Because I got the clip on I ensured I had a hard case because it will protect the phone when it it’s the ground.

Many different companies make cell phone belt cases for different phones and the user will want one into which the phone easily slides and there is no possible way for it to accidentally slip out unnoticed. There are few worse feelings in the world than reaching for the cell phone and realizing there is nothing there but an empty case, as the phone is resting comfortably on the seat of the car.
