Wireless security video cameras used to be a thing from SFI. When they first come on the market they costed a good 10K. Only the rich had them and even those cameras did not have that good of resolution. In today’s world you can pick up a wireless video camera for just 30% more then a regular camera. Most people have more then one camera. After all if your going to do it you might as well do it right. The most common places are outside the front door and then a good angle looking at the back door. Some people like to hide the wireless security video cameras. Personally I have them out in the open as a deterrent. The cameras themselves are not much bigger then a flood light and because I do not have to run wires to them they do not make the house look bad at all.
Most cameras out there will give you a good picture up to 90 feet away. You can also get night cameras. These bad boys are sweet because I have color during the day and when night kicks in the lens auto adjusts and goes into black and white for night vision. I do have motion detectors as well. The whole idea here is to make the burglar think twice about hitting your house. After all if you saw a camera wouldn’t you rather hit a different house with less security.
Wireless security video cameras are not the end all. You should have a security system or alarm on the home as well. The camera is for an extra deterrent and just in case the guy is dumb enough to rob you have a description of who and how many.
